While in my friend Bianca’s family country home near San Sepolcro, on the border of Tuscany and Umbria,
we had the pleasure of hanging out with new and old friends while sipping on SPRITZ, an aperitivo. Our friend Andrea gave us their version of this Italian old time favorite and no surprise …I’m hooked!
The original recipe for SPRITZ calls for 1/3 of Aperol, 1/3 white wine and 1/3 ofSoda water, all mixed together in a glass with ice and a slice of orange.
This is a great drink but since having Andrea’s version I don’t think I can go back.
LO SPRITZ DI ANDREA
1/3 Campari, 1/3 Prosecco, 1/3 Soda water. All mixed together in a glass with ice, a slice of orange and last but not least, a basil leaf.
I’m going to have to make one now! Let me know what you think…all I can say is SALUTE!
